Blynq didn't start with a brief. It started with a lifetime in eyewear.

Parin Mehta grew up around glasses. Over three decades ago, his father began importing nylon fibre frames from Italy and eventually built their own retail space, Optical Service. Working on the shop floor from an early age, Parin learned to read faces, understand personal style, and pay attention to how people actually lived. Helping someone find the right frame wasn't just about fit. It was about confidence.

Over time, one thing became clear. India had a vast and growing eyewear market, but almost everything premium was still being designed and made internationally. There was a gap. And an opportunity.

In 2018, Parin began exploring 3D printed eyewear. Materials, processes, possibilities. What started as curiosity became a direction. After years of testing and refining, he launched his first 3D printed eyewear brand in 2021. The response was immediate. There was a real appetite for design-led eyewear made in India.

Blynq is the next step.

Most people don't know their frames are bothering them until they take them off. Redness, irritation, that familiar pressure mark on the nose. Blynq frames are made from medical-grade, biocompatible nylon that's been tested for long-duration skin contact. Skin-safe by design, not just by accident. You wear them all day and your skin doesn't know they were there.
Traditional eyewear manufacturing works by cutting frames out of sheets or injecting material into moulds. Both methods have limits on what shapes are possible and how consistent the output can be. 3D printing works differently. Every Blynq frame is built layer by layer, to exact tolerances, which means the geometry is consistent from one frame to the next. The bridge sits where it should. The temples align the way they're supposed to. There's no variation hiding in the process, and no excess material left over from cutting. Just the frame, exactly as it was designed.
Conventional eyewear production generates significant waste. Acetate frames are cut from large sheets, leaving behind material that often can't be reused. Injection moulding requires overproduction to justify tooling costs. 3D printing is additive, meaning we build up rather than cut down. We use only the material the frame actually needs, and we make only what's been ordered. No overstock sitting in warehouses. No offcuts headed to landfill. It's a more considered way to make things, and that's a decision we made on purpose.
The frames are designed, engineered, printed, and packaged in India. We source the best components from across the world, German precision hinges and high-performance nylon, because the standard we're building to doesn't compromise on what goes into the frame. The craft, the decisions, the making. All of it happens here. Blynq is an Indian brand building to a global standard, and that's exactly the point.
Every Blynq frame carries a 24 month guarantee against manufacturing defects. If something fails because of how it was made, we replace the frame or the defective part at no cost. Accidental damage, misuse, and unauthorised repairs fall outside the guarantee, as do ophthalmic lenses. To make a claim, visit any Blynq authorised optician with your certificate. That's all it takes.
